1. What type of lighting is best for a bathroom?

Bathrooms need task lighting (around mirrors for shaving/makeup), ambient lighting (general ceiling lights), and sometimes accent lighting (LED strips, niches, or under-cabinet lights) for atmosphere.

2. Are all lights suitable for bathrooms?

No. Bathroom lights must have the correct IP (Ingress Protection) rating depending on where they’re installed. For example, lights near showers or baths need a higher IP rating than those further away.

3. Do I really need an extractor fan in my bathroom?

Yes. An extractor fan is recommended (and often required by building regulations) to remove steam, condensation, and odours, preventing damp and mould growth.
