How To Choose My Shower Enclosure
We sell a huge range of shower enclosures and screens and it can often be difficult for customers to understand exactly which one suits their needs.
Please see the below information we we hope will help, if you are still unsure please email us info@bathcenter.co.uk with any further questions.
Shower enclosures come in a few shapes, these are Square, Rectangular, Quadrant, Offset Quadrant, Pentagonal, D Shaped and Wetroom Screens.
Square:
Square enclosures are usually pivot, hinged, corner entry or bi fold styles.
You will usually require both a door and a side panel but if you are installing in an alcove the no side panel is required.
Rectangular:
Rectangular enclosures are usually sliding, pivot, hinged, corner entry or bi fold styles.
You will usually require both a door and a side panel but if you are installing in an alcove the no side panel is required.
Square and Rectangular enclosures can be installed either way around as the doors are reversible.
Quadrant and Offset Quadrant:
Quadrant enclosures are curved shaped and fit in the corner of a bathroom, the curved front can be great at saving vital space and also adds an elegant style.
Quadrants are available with sliding or pivot doors.
Offset Quadrants are the same as above but the length is longer to create more showering space.
Whilst the offset enclosures themselves are reversible the trays are handed, please see the image below for how the offset handing works ie Right or Left Handed:
Pentagonal:
Pentagonal enclosures are basically the same as quadrants, they suit corner installation and the offset versions come in left or hand versions.
D Shaped:
D Shaped shower enclosures are unique in that they are only require one wall to be installed against, this can be a great solution when a room does'nt have any suitable corners for an enclosure to be installed.
D shapes come with sliding doors.
Wetroom Screens:
Wetroom screens can be used on, shower trays, vinyl and tiled floors.
They are available in pretty much any size you could require and have, Clear, Frosted or Tinted glass options.
Also Black or Silver Frames are available.
All come complete with a bracing bar to ensure that they are completely solid.
If you are concerned about water splashing out at the end then we always suggest going for at least a 900mm wide screen and if possible a flipper or return panel on the end.
